how do I monitor bandwidth usage that a server puts out...for example:
I have a server that I want to allow 1 gb of bandwidth...how can I get solarwinds to alert me when the bandwidth is almost used or exceeded?
thanks

Hi trini,
If you are attempting to alert when interface utilization goes over a certain threshold use the Alert configuration utiliy. It has built in alerts for bandwidth utilization on interfaces.
If you are attempting to alert on the total amount of traffic sent or received from a particular host, that is a bit more complicated. There is a chart (Total Bytes Transfered) that display the total traffic for an interface on the web front end. Within the Alert engine there may be a way to generate an Alert based on this value. However, I have not been able to find it.
Be fantastic.

I have been trying to get this also. Currently I am unable to get any bandwidth utilization alerts to work.
