Web Page Alerts - Mute

Question

Hi, our Helpdesk has a large screen displaying the NetPerfMon Website. When a node goes down the PC alerts to identify that something is down. Is there a way to then mute the alert for that node so that it no longer alerts us with a sound? (not unmanage the node)

But then if another node goes down a sound is again played?

When you select a node, there are buttons you can click to ping etc. Why not mute, which then re-sets when the node is back online?

I'm not too big on resurrecting old threads, but I'm having the same problem. In my NOC we have a number of maps (via network atlas) and a customized Top 10 page on a big screen. When something throws an alert we get the sound as normal. However, we randomly get multiple audio alerts when the page refreshes.

I'm not sure if it's relevant, but the Top 10 page (which is what i suspect is giving the multiple audio alerts) rotates every 30 seconds with another page. Under certain situations I can make it give the audio alert on every refresh (say, if I'm perusing the Orion site from my workstation while an alert is on the screen). However, if I let it sit there we'll get one audio alert for every 15-20 refreshes.

The PC this is running on is Windows XP, and the browser is IE7 if that's at all relevant. Also, we're running NPM 9.5 SP4.

In any case, this is extremely annoying to the people sitting in the NOC, as they tend to be aware of the alert on the first alarm, and we don't need repeated alarms for the same alert.

No - we get an audio alarm each time it refreshes. Just upgraded to the 9.1 and it's the same in this version.
