We upgraded from Cirrus 4.0 to NCM 5.0, and it seems as if polling and rediscovery has not taken place since then, even though the Node Monitoring global setting is set on, with a poll for every 2 minutes and a rediscovery every 60.
Can you check to ensure that the Orion NCM Polling Service is running? Also, please note that with 5.0, you can perform rediscovery through inventory by going to File > Settings > Inventory and checking box next to System Information.
Thanks for your prompt response. The Orion NCM Polling Service is not only not running, it doesn't show up in the list of services at all. Did we do the upgrade incorrectly?
Also, since you mention inventory, is it customary for inventory to take nearly an hour per device? That's about what it seems like to me.
Did the NCM Configuration Wizard run after your installation? If not, try running it from the Start Menu and check all boxes except for startup settings.
If this doesn't work, I'd suggest opening a support ticket and getting some help on the upgrade. If you go this route, please include a link to this thread in your ticket.
OK, thanks, Chris. I don't actually know if the Config Wizard ran, since I wasn't the one who did the upgrade. I'll check on that, and we'll open a ticket if necessary.
