Monitor number of running processes

Hello.

Does anyone know how to monitor the number of running processes on a server using SAM? For example, I want to monitor if two or more sqlservr.exe processes are running on a server. I can't figure out which template would accomplish this. Please advise.

There is a windows poweshell script monitor called process count monitor. This may suit your needs. You'd just need to edit the script and change the process from the default lsass to sqlserver.

You can easily create such template yourself using wizard ("Find Processes, Services..." from SAM settings page and choosing either "Process Monitor - WMI" or "Process Monitor - SNMP" depending on preferred monitoring method).
