How to Trigger a HTTPS Alert without bringing the node down

Hello everyone, I have a HTTPS monitor setup along with an Alert that is tied to the monitor for a cloud-based URL. I would like to create a test to make sure that the Alert is working correctly without actually bringing the Cloud page down. How would I go about doing something like this?

If you just want to validate the action is working correclty, that is easy to test. Just go to Settings-Manage Alerts-Actions and test the action.

If you want to test your trigger logic, that is a little trickier in my experience. Do you have a test node or the ability to spin one up to test the logic?

What i've done in the past is to place a random text in the 'Seach String' part of the HTTPS monitor that i know will not exist on the page. Test and it fails. Then replace it with a string that I know would exist like 'login'. (The actual string that would exist on a page varies from site to site.) Test and it succeeds.

Thanks for that, yes I have done that I do know that works. I'm more interested in knowing how to make the Alert thinks its down so that I can make sure that the Alert gets to where it needs to go. Basically, a way to make the monitor think the node is down so it will fire off an alert.

no way to make a test node since especially since this is a cloud based URL.

Currently we do not have a "test" mechanism for triggering an alert. This would be a good item to add to Server & Application Monitor Feature Requests.
