Hi Team,
Solar winds console is very slow and unable to browse properly in our environment.
As I am not getting any permanent fix for the issue.
Could you please assist to resolve the issue.
You should open a ticket with support, it could be a number of issues.
SolarWinds Contact Us
How about the server load and how many users using at same time?
1-2 users
^this
any particular time when application respond slowness?
there is no time, when some one access tool it is not able to access properly.
if we open any tab in the tab in console it is taking more time and also some time getting as unexpected website error.
checked with TAC did not getting proper solution.
Multiple reason causing the problem.
1. Suspecting it's permission issue. Can you check if you have proper rights to open all pages?
2. How about your Network speed?
3. Have you tried to access the same NMS from local server?
Will be helpful to understand the exact issue if you share the screenshot.
Thanks,
Alankar
Is it just the web interface that is slow?
if not check the number of nodes being polled, are you running the database on the same server?
Post login to the page I am getting below error and it is taking more time to load i.e. 5-10 min.
if not check the number of nodes being polled, are you running the database on the same server
we are using database server separately in our environment.
Hi Karunakar,
can you check main poller server configuration like CPU,Memory and RAM details.
check the how many nodes added nodes in main poller.
you have separate database or shared database for solarwinds.
Thanks and Regards,
kishore.
Hi Kishore,
please find the details our server is in azure cloud.
Standard D4 (8 vcpus, 28 GB memory) -Application server.
Standard DS3 v2 (4 vcpus, 14 GB memory) -Data base server.
Reading the guidelines for Azure deployments your SQL server is undersized.
Deploy SolarWinds Orion Platform products to Microsoft Azure
How many modules do you have? What licences level?
How many devices do you monitor, interfaces?
What the polling rate ?
Are the SQL server and the SW main server in the same availability zone and same Vnet?
Try to use HUbble to check if its a problem with a long running query.

Are you using a domain user or a local Solarwinds user to login ?
Hi,
We have NPM.NCM and IPAM in server application and database separately.
Please find the below details which are using in our environment.
My server is installed in azure cloud.
Do we have any support escalation matrix for solar winds ?
Maybe have a look here Help with using all of my polling engines resources
I believe in 90% of all cases it is NOT the Orion Platform causing sluggishness but a wrongsizing or misconfiguration of your environment.
Don‘t underestimate SQL performance. Don’t blindly turn on all features, be aware of polling frequencies.
Question ridiculous demands (we need to poll all Interfaces every 10 seconds, we need to poll disk space every 10 seconds...NO you usually DON‘T in most cases)
Whenever I come in to such projects there is something in the environment that‘s causing the sluggishness.
In my last project in performance improving we had SPLUNK pinning down the SQL Box every 5 Minutes for a Audit Export. We had the Splunk team optimize their queries and after that, Orion was running like a charm.
One time the Antivirus Team ignored the request for exclusions...website was slow... got them to set the proper exclusion, never heard of performance issues at that customer again.
I could go on and on as I have many of those stories, bottom line: it’s almost never the network Orion itself, and I doubt that you have one of those rare cases where there is a bug in the software causing the issue.
Run the config wizard as that cures all manner of strange issues....
If you're still having problems, I would recommend that you call SolarWinds support again. Let them know that you called previously & that it is still not working as you would like.
If there is AV on the server there is an article relating to disabling AV Scanning of key solarwinds folders which is an issue we experienced with our deployment recently and the errors you are seeing is similar to what we experianced.
However opening a support ticket will ensure that you get to the resolution of the issue a lot quicker.
This looks like the same issue I was experiencing with a bug in the Cortex.dll. There is a memory leak in it.
They had a buddy drop to resolve it, or you can update to the latest release that has the fix in it.
Not sure. may be aLTeReGo help you on this.
Have you checked all the ports are open that need to be opened?
Someone mentioned Anti virus which we have had issues with and needs adding to exceptions or removing
Config wizard helps you resolve all manner of issues.
restart the services see if that helps resolve the issue
I concur with dfairles. This sounds like a database blocking and memory pressure issue that was resolved in NPM 12.5.
