Monitoring mssql server with multiple named instance using appinsight

Hi Team,

While i am discovering sql server, it's only discovering default sql instance.We want to monitor multiple instances on a server, do we need to add those instances one by one? Is there any way to auto-discover all the instances at a go?

First you need to check if you have the Permissions on the SQL Server instance (AppInsight for SQL Permissions )

But also Orion sometimes still doesnt discover my SQL Server instances:

I dont know what this behavior is, maybe its a bug, but I will show you my expirience with AppInsight for SQL Server:

I have a Server with 3 Instances:

When I want to add the Server with add new node, i only see 2 instances:

When I restart the SQL Server Browser Service, i only see one instance:

and after I restarted all Instances after I restarted the Browser service, I can add all Instances:

Im not sure if the service restart was necessary or if I just could abort the "add a new node" assistant and restart it, but maybe this will help you.
