Dumb Question Alert - Automated "Baseline Entire Network"

Fellow Thwackers,

newb here...possible dumb question, but here goes...

I've looked for a way to schedule a recurring job that will baseline the entire network every week, but haven't found a way . I'm willing to write the SQL to do it if it can't be done using a native function. Anyone done this?

Not exactly Noob, but I don't know of any way to automate this. I too would like to schedule a monthly baseline task that downloads the startup config and marks it as a baseline.

You can open a support ticket with SW to see if the feature is hidden somewhere.

That would be definitively a great feature. Is it already implement in the last version of NCM ?

Is there eventually a date for the implementation (a few days, weeks or month ?)

In case this feature is still not yet implemented, can anyone share the SQL to have a workaround ?

The reason I would like it (if not already in NCM, will be installing soon) is similar to those previously mentioned.

The "Baseline Config" for a device is meant to be a known good config. The demands of a particular network device change over time. Maybe some access lists had to be added, removed, or edited since the original baseline. In this case is something happened and the device lost its config and then the known good "baseline" config was put onto the device it would not provide the funtionality that is currently required by the device. Yes, a recent config backup would likely have that if the issue is noticed and tracked down before those are pushed out or purged from the configuration backup archive. The baseline SHOULD not get pushed out or purged from the configuration backup archive in the same way other configurations are, making it more likely that the changes will not have to be reinvented if it takes some time to discover the lack fountionalitly that a change was made after the baseline was defined provided.
