Multiple alerts for a single application down

Hi all,

I've created alerts to trigger when an application goes down. However, we seem to receive an email for each component of the application, not just a single alert for the app itself. Is this expected behavior? Our guys are a whole lot less likely to pay attention to these alerts if they get 12 emails for every alert.

Did you select 'APM: Application' as the type of property to monitor?

I don't think it would be expected behavior. How does your "Trigger condition" and "Trigger action" look like? Did you try predefined "Alert me when an application goes down" alert? Does it behave the same way?

You're a legend Andy, that was the problem. Was monitoring APM:Component (didn't even see that)
