APM 4.0.2 Upgrade minus NPM

Hi,

I meed your advice on what route to take to upgrade APM to the latets version.

My current confi is as follows:

1 st server: primary engine (NPM/APM/NCM).
2 nd server: additional
3 rd server: additiona/webserver.
4th server: SQL

My desired goal is to upgrade APM only and drop NPM. I would rather not uninstall it though from the primary server.

What are my options please?

Additional Pollers aren't really product specific. Your only real option is to uninstall NPM from the primary and upgrade SAM directly to v5.2. You'll also need to upgrade your additional pollers as well to ensure they're running the same version of Orion Core as the Primary Orion server.

Thanks fr your answer. Would it be easier just to keep NPM (even thogh I won't use it) and upgrade both APm and NPM?

If so what' the bets way to do it?

It's likely the same level of effort to upgrade NPM as it is to uninstall it. So it will depend on you and your environment if you're using the functionality that NPM provides. If you uninstall NPM now and change your mind later that's not a problem. You can pickup right where you left off since all your data/settings/preferences will be retained in the database.
