Moving NCM to another server with upgrade

Hi all,

I have a NCM 5.5.2 SP1 installation. I want to migrate it to another server. I backed up the database.

My question is can I install v6.1 on the new server and attach to the 5.5.2 database?

I tried upgrading the current 5.5.2 installation to 6.1 and it crapped out saying two files were still in use and it interfered with the NPM functions installed on the same server.

Upgrading from NCM 5.5.2 directly to NCM 6.1 is supported.However I need more information.

Is your NCM standalone or integrated?

If integrated what other tools(include the version) are they?

Are the SQL versions the same on NCM 5.5.2 and one to be on NCM 6.1?If different please provide details.

Once I have the answers ,I should be able provide a clear answer.

The question is only can I connect NCM v6.1 to a database that was used for a 5.5.2 installation. Forget any other software or anything else.

However, I don't need the question answered anymore. I was able to do an in-place upgrade of the NCM current NPM software. I had to kill some lingering processes. Thanks.
