NCM Sh Commands

Hey thwaksters!

I am sure this has already been answered at one point or another - I just can't seem to find the right post..

Is it possible to run a command (or report) against a group of switches and have the output/results emailed in excel format? I have about 300 switches throughout my network, and I want to report on only switch port status of 'not connected' so I can see my port utilization.

If there is an easier way to do this, I am all ears.

@bhooper - if you want to use ncm, you might need to get it in text format, but you would have to format it afterwards, if you added all eth interfaces to NPM, you could do a SQL query or report against them.

@Jasper - You could make this a batch file and schedule it with windows scheduler.

sqlcmd -S <DatabaseServer> -d NetPerfMon -E -h -1 -W -Q "SET NOCOUNT ON select Caption+','+IP_Address from nodes" > Filename.csv

do you own npm? i would imagine this to be easier in report writer

For Reporting how many Ports are in use or available, you will want to look at User Device Tracker. User Device Tracker is designed to report this information as well as what is connected to the device. You can also watch for a device based on IP Address, MAC Address, or Hostname. There is a 30 day free trial if you want to take a look at it.

You could then run a Report and save the Report to Excel.

I´m having the same issue / request.

I need to export my nodes and device names to a csv file in a fixed schedule. Can´t seem to figure this out. So right now.. i have outlook remind me, to execute my report manually, and then export the result to csv...

Should be a more easy way, right ?
