No device template

I get an error whenever I attempt to ssh to a device via Cirrus. I get “No device template for '1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.614'” error. I tried removing and adding devices and get an “Unable to locate device template for this device, try manually selecting the template that should be used”. In the node details the drop down for template only has “Auto Determine”. I went to the \Program Files\Solarwinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes\ folder and found several templates. Removed and reinstalled Cirrus, same problem.

It all worked fine last week and I am using cisco switches. Any ideas?

I removed and reinstalled Cirrus and now at the end of install I get

"Error 1720. There is a problem with the Windows Installer Package. Ascript required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Custom action CopyMIBStoCommon script error -2146827859, Micr..."

What does that mean?

Also same problem, Cirrus still can't get to the templates

Was it working before? Have you modified any of the device templates recently? Typically, if you manually select a device template for a device and it still fails, this means that the device template is improperly formatted. Installing/reinstalling Cirrus won't necessarily fix the problem because it should respect your device templates additions/modifications. One option is to backup your "DeviceTypes" folder, delete from the "Configuration Management" directory, and then try reinstalling.

If you're unable to make any progress with the above steps, I'd recommend contacting support so they work through this issue with you and get dev involved as necessary.

It was working before. I didn't manually select any device types. There are no device templates in the drop down box when I attempt to add a device. I'll try deleting the folder and reinstall. Should I make a new database? The Database is stored on a different server and I used the same DB. I don't have much data worth keeping.

Please open a ticket with technical support and let them know you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success. If you have another machine you can try installing on, you might try that to see if it makes any difference.
