Removing an app monitor from a server

We have moved our Financial Oracle database to a new server. I want to remove the monitor from the old server and set it up on the new one. The latter is no problem. But how do I remove the app monitor from the server without deleting the entire server and re-adding it? I don't want to lose the general stats it has collected for the year (IE up-time, memory etc). The simplest, easiest, most straightforward way would be to change the IP address of the node that already has the application template applied to it. So going into old/original node and change the IP address of the host to the IP address of the new node will seamlessly start monitoring the new server without losing any of your historical data.

Well, how easy can it get? This has worked perfectly. Now I can recreate the original server with just basic server monitoring. Very cool and thank you.
