Help with custom report: I need to poll directory for filesize

Hello everyone,

I have a situation where we would like to get a report on the MSMQ log size from the c:\WINDOWS\system32\msmq\storage directory.

I see a report template that is for IIS Website directory size, so I know it is possible, I just need assistance setting up a custom report that points to the msmq\storage directory.
Can I create an Application Monitor to watch these directories and send alerts when it reaches a certain limit? (or even restart MSMQ when the threshhold is reached)

I am looking at this with SAM, but initially was hoping the Storage resource monitor (SRM) would be able to accomplish this task. I did not see anyway to do this from there.

Also, I have LEM, so whichever is the best route, please advise.

We have 60 servers that are monitored in NPM and with SAM.  Then end goal would be to get a report (web, email or spreadsheet) showing each of the hostnames and the size of the directory.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I haven't gotten into the reporting piece of it too much yet, but we are doing some similar monitoring in my environment. We have a folder that holds user temp data files for a particular application, and the application owners wanted to be notified when any one of those folders is bigger than 30GB. I created a new application template, included a "Windows PowerShell Monitor" component monitor, and then used a PowerShell script to get the info I need. Whenever that monitor goes critical, I trigger an alert to send the email. I'm sure you could modify it to modify what you are looking for and then add an "Execute an external program" action to an alert to restart the service.
