Hi Folks,
IHAC who switched from Kiwi CatTools to NCM for config management. They now complain that the download of some Juniper-Device configs is now MUCH slower than before.
The Issue that we have is, that we can not switch off paging on these devices. KIWI-Cat seemed to not care and just grabbed the config in less than 5 Minutes. NCM is now being logged in for about 17 Minutes on 1 Device until it finishes the Download of the Config. With a total number of around 30.000 devices this is not an acceptable speed.
This is also causing more and more other issues. So could anyone explain what KIWI does differently from NCM?
I assume they both log into the device, send the "show-Config" command and if a more-prompt is shown they virtually hit the space-bar and continue with the next lines.
So why is NCM taking 3 - 4 times as long as Kiwi?
Thanks for any hints.
