Import devices from NPM

Hi all,

I'm about to purchase NCM and have one question for when I do.

I plan to import all my devices from NPM, in itself not a problem, except there are devices in NPM that I do not want to import to NCM (service provider kit).

Is there a way to not import those devices based on community string or a custom property in NPM?

you are correct, sorry. I just ran through the job again and it does only allow filtering on those two fields.
If you have a DBA, you could import using SQL, but I know that is not ideal.

SW, can you mark this as a feature request? Given licensing/product differences with NPM/NCM, I think open filtering capabilities are much more important.

I would get with your SW sales rep and let them know that this is an issue and they may be able to push from inside as well.

yes, you can filter based on criteria what gets imported (i.e. vendor, etc..)

I use vendor='Cisco'.

Do you do this in the Import Wizard?

I have the trial installed and only get filters in a scheduled job and then it only lets me filter based on Vendor and Machine type and nothing else (I would like to filter based on community string or one of my custom properties)
