Is it just me or is mapmaker quite cludgy to work with? We have about 1100 nodes and when I try and make a link "active" by editing the network properties and associating it with a node, it takes forever. Now, if the remote node is a single router, it works great because that router is preselected. But in our network, most sites usually have 2 routers (primary link, backup link), so if I drag a map for the site there, I then have to wait for it to enumerate all of the nodes before I can select one. Takes forever.
Some things I'd love to see:
Have it show the nodes associated with whatever is connected, whether it be a map or a single router
Be able to filter, or do a search for a node by name, via a text box rather than have to wait for it to list them all.
Have a "style" associated with a link type. ie: if the link is of a certain type and/or between two bandwidth levels, automatically select this color for the link, and this weight (thickness) for the line
Another great one would be able to do a CDP neighbor of a link on a node from within mapmaker and maybe do some sort of "autoconnect".
