I've got a whole bunch of APC AP7721 ATS' that only expose their config via the built-in FTP server. The only method I've found for reliably pulling the config is via wget: there seems to be some problem with the ftp-data connections when using FileZilla or the Windows command-line FTP (this is of no consequence to SolarWinds/NCM directly, other than it means my query will be directed at using wget pulling the config from the device and any old alternative probably won't work). There is an FTP client on the AP7721, but it serves only for downloading files to the device from elsewhere: it can't be used to push the files out to an FTP server, a la 'copy run ftp:' in IOS.
So, I can get some jobs scheduled up which will run an external command, issue the wget and retrieve the config to the NCM server. Easy enough (though possibly a bit of a kludge given that I don't currently know if I can pass the device name, IP, credentials etc. to the external command), but the problem comes in getting the configs that have been downloaded to the server into NCM and its database. Thoughts? I had seen the 3rd party SCP server option in NCM settings and wondered if I could abuse that in some way, but I suspect that will get messy.
I've raised a support case for this (and a couple of other things), but thought it'd be worthwhile hitting the forums as well.
I've included some of the info from the device, as this will probably be of use to anyone wanting to get a config from any APC product that's based on the same 'Network Management Card', which is probably quite a lot of kit.
