Orion 9.1 to 9.5 error when using the wizard

Hello,

This is a nightmare and Solarwinds wont' help as it's a SQL issue - great!

I have Orion 9.1 SP5 installed on a server, but the database is on another server which is SQL 2000.

We need to move the database to our SQL 2005 server first before upgrading to 9.5 (only run in SQL 2005 I believe). I backed up the NetPerfMon database on our SQL 2000 server then restored it to our SQL 2005 server fine.

After that I ran the Configuration Wizard and get this error:

I am using the 'sa' username and password.

Any ideas?

Try this go to administrative tools on the Orion Server hosting Orion and select Data Sources (ODBC). Once the window is up, click on the Drivers tab.

Let me know if you have drivers for SQL Server.

Look at the attached screen shot.

Hi GonzoUK,

Sometimes when you have performed an upgrade from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 the account you are using may not correctly follow onto the new install of SQL.

Creating a new user to connect to the Database may correct this issue.

If you are using the defaulf SolarWindNPM then make new user SolarWindsNPM1.

We (managed to get a DBA to help) have already tried this and get the same error.
