Migrate to one or more servers?

Hi,

I have a bunch of Solarwinds applications on one server and I'm planning to migrate them to a new hardware. I'm wondering whether to keep them on a single server or would it be better to maybe install any of them standalone or even with separate databases, considering the manageability, performance and functionality (integration).

Software situation -

NPM with 3000 elements (single polling engine)

NTA (approx. 500 flows) and IP SLA manager - these two are modules and probably have to be on the NPM server

NCM - 800 devices

APM - approx. 1000 monitors

UDT - approx. 20000 ports

IPAM - about 500 /20 networks ;-(

DB is already on a separate server. Available application server has decent hw specifications (2x6 cores Xeon, 24 GB RAM, RAID 5).

Any recommendations or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend to read the OrionserverMigration and moving OrionDatabase document just to start off.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've already read both documents and successfully migrated the database to the new hardware, following the guidelines from the second document.

The migration of application server is still pending, until I am completely clear about benefits/drawbacks of standalone option for IPAM, UDT, APM, and NCM.
