Can NCM compare one device config to another device config?

Hello,

I'm running Orion NCM v 7.0.2 and I’d like to create a new job or report that compares one devices’ running config with another device, then emails a report of the difference. Of course it would need to ignore certain lines of the running config output, then email me daily if differences are detected. This will be ran against 2 x Cisco ASA 5520's.

Anyone create a custom job or report that can do this? Please reply if so. Help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Shane,

NCM scheduled config change reports currently don't allow comparing configs from different devices. You can, at least, run the task manually in the Web Console -> Configuration Management -> Compare Selected Configs. Here you can select 2 configs from different devices.

I'd like to see this too. Automated reports of pairs of devices would be a good way to review configs and make sure they're in sync.

One of the most important criteria for a feature to be implemented is its popularity. This request hasn't been popular enough to be included in a release yet.
