Different alerts in different windows?

On the webpage, is it possible to set up a custom alert resource that shows only alerts that meet certain criteria?

For instance, if I want to set one up to where it displays only the alerts I set up for the VM's, and have the main one filter all those alerts out, how would I go about doing that?

When you add the alerts resource to a view and then preview the view, you should be able to edit the resource and there is a place that allows SQL filtering.
