Event alerts are alerting with no content, in the email

I have looked in the event log, and there is no event.

I first get a performance monitor alert, of pages/sec. Shortly after, I get another alert, with no message from the event log alert.

Hi, and thank you for the reply. I was incomplete, in my question.

I am getting a performance alert, with perfmon. This works fine, the problem I'm having is the event log alert fires as well, even though there is no event. This results in an empty alert, which isn't what I'm looking for.

It sounds like in the Advanced Alert you have a "Trigger Action" defined to write to the Event Log, but no text has been defined.
