Advanced Alerting Help

Could someone direct me in the right direction on this one? I am new to the Orion Product and would like to setup an advance alert.

Here is the scenario.

We would like to monitor ports on a switch, when they go active and have been idle for say about 30days or have had no traffic in a while. We would like to be alerted that this port went hot. any ideas on how this can be established through advance alerting. Thanks for your help in advance.

As for alerting on when a port goes active, that is just a simple status change alert.

As for an alert having to do with traffic levels on an interface, this is just a guess. Try setting up an alert that triggers on either/or (both?) transmit and receive bps being equal to zero, but then delay the trigger action until the condition has existed for 720 hours (30 days).
