Orion Discovery - UX style

meech, I was looking at issues to raise as new feature requests when I came across this old thread I commented on....

Unfortunately these pains are still about even with NPMv12, and it being said discovery will be looked at in the near future - is the time now?

squinsey it's always the time to let us know UX improvements you'd like to a major part of Orion. We can track comments here and forever more, so even if this isn't something we're tackling now, it give us one place to look if/when we tackle this. Please, can you start the thread here and also reach out to others who you know have thoughts or issues? And as always, rather than recreating the wheel, if people already have good or interesting comments elsewhere in thwack, can you reference existing thwack posts?

I would also add improved integration of the Discovery utility via the SDK. We need a more granular and more robust way to edit, and create discoveries in bulk. This is a example of where it is lacking today:

Also I would add this thread where I describe what is currently still lacking even after the discovery improvements made in NPM 12. Unfortunately I can't get into the SAM beta right now to find the thread. However what I describe is that we need the ability to set robust conditions to determine what to automatically add during the bulk import process. For example on Cisco Switches automatically add interfaces with "STRING" in the description. On Windows Servers in the "10.0.0.X" subnet, add interfaces with "STRING" in the Interface Name. In the same subnet add Windows 7 machines with "STRING" in the hostname. These are a few examples but in order for any kind of bulk add feature in the discovery to be useful, you needs to be able to set multiple nested conditions.
