Teaming NICs in Windows 2000
jainsworth
I have over 20 Windows 2000 servers that have three NICs in them. In many cases, two of the NICs are teamed using Fast Ether Channel. When the NICs are teamed in this manner, I cannot see the NIC in NetPerfMon at all. In a multi-NIC box that does not have any teaming, I see all NICs just fine.
Has anyone else seen this or have any suggestions to be able to monitor the traffic on these NICs?

Hello JA,
You cannot see the actual physical NIC?
Or you cannot see the virtual teamed NIC?
Either way I would do an SNMP walk on these servers to see whether or not Windows is considering the missing NIC in terms of its ethernet interfaces.
The MIB you are looking for is:
1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1
This is the ifEntry MIB. If you walk this (with any free or commercial snmp walk tool) you will see each of the interfaces that Windows 2000 is exposing.
