NCM new install - License Error: Activex component cannot create object

Hi all,

I have just installed NCM onto a server that is currently already running NPM 10.2.1 and NTA 3.8 and the latest Engineer's toolkit

Everything seemed to install fine, however when I try to run the Orion Network Configuration Manager (or indeed any of the programs under Solarwinds Orion Network Configuration Manager menu on the Start Menu), I get the error License Error : Activex component cannot create object.

The server is Windows Server 2008 SP1 64-bit running on VMWARE.

Any ideas ?  None of the other Orion components seem to be affected.

After raising a support ticket, we have resolved this:

NCM was originally installed using a domain account (albeit one that was a member of the local administrators group via domain group assignment).

Logging onto the server as the local administrator and running a "repair" from Programs and Features resolved the error.

Seems strange to me that domain accounts with administrative rights can't install the program properly ?
