Oracle monitoring

I am trying to get APM v2.0 to monitor oracle E-Business suite and alert us when a service is down. Does anybody have any insight into accomplishing this?

I've tried setting up an application monitor on the pmon service for the database...no luck.

I've tried using the oracle user experience monitor, but i'm getting an oracle client error. I do have the 10g client installed on the box.

Ideally I would have APM monitor these services -

Oracle database

Oracle database listener

Oracle applications listener

Apache server

Concurrent manager service

I was really hoping APM would be a good tool to monitor services, but I'm beginning to have my doubts.
