How to write a MIB?? Any suggestions on resourses..

Hello,

We have an application that we use at our company and we want to write a MIB to poll the status of the application. I know how to use the Custom MIB poller in Orion and it works great. Does anyone have any suggestions on what resources to use to learn how to write a MIB for an application that runs on RHEL5? Then I could poll that MIB from Orion.
