Managing menu based switches

If I remeber write in one of promo docs I think it said something about being able to manage menu based switches, I was very interested in this feature as it would allow us to manage our 3COM 4400 & 4060's but I've been unable to get it working.

Has anyone else managed to manage a menu based switch, if so how do you get it working?

Menu-Based or Menu-Driven CIRRUS support/mgmt is something we are very interested in getting working as well.

Apparently, there is some type of pre-login command that occurs PRIOR to an actual login to the equipment which is not allowing me to get into our menu-based devices (ie. Encore VSR-30 Satellite appliances). This "pre-command" is unknown to me but causing me lots of issues making any menu based devices work via Cirrus.

Has anyone figured this out yet?

I got this to work with a Cisco Catalyst 1900 switch. I realize it is a low end platform, but it does use the menu driven IOS. If you do a search in Thwack for Cisco 1900 you will find a message thread where someone has included a device template that you might try.

Basically, the template had to have a line added to include the required input to get to a command line. In the case of the 1900, it is a K followed by a return.

Is this what you are after?

Hi,

I make it works with two PreCommand in the template File :

The first one is ${CRLF} ( to get the prompt )

the Second is # with delay = 1 ( I think it enables the switchs to look like a cisco )

You will now be able to download the conf ( Telnet / Tftp ).

Hello, i´m having trouble downloading a 3COM 4400´s config.. this is what i have so far, but i know it´s not correct...

This script works like a charm, but i wanna do it automatically with the configMgmt file..

End of script (note the two blank lines.. does are CRLF)

-ConfigMgmt (This doesn´t work ...just logs into thw switch but does not understands the commands i told it to do)
