Web Config Change Report : no cached configs

Hi,

I've issues with the inconsistent content of the config cache.

I've occasionaly unchecked the [ ] Cache results box when downloading configs from devices and now I've encountered troubles when generating the

"Configuration Change Report" in the NCM Web.

Now I'm getting for some devices (e.g. c3750-1) the following report:

c3750-1.fc.net
no cached configs

even if the NCM native application reports changes in some saved configs.

Can someone help me how to synchronize the content of the cache and the SQL Config archive to get the same reports in the web and in the native app ?

After consulting with support:

If the "Cache Results" checkbox is unchecked  the config difference is not processed into the Config Cache (i.e. special table in the database).

As the WebConfig Change Report is generated from the data in the Config Cache it won't contain this change history.

Only the windows application Config Change Report will contain the full change history as it reprocesses all data from the config archive and does not use the cache.

The "Cache Results" checkbox will be removed in the future.

You cannot regenerate the Config Cache from the content of the config archive (i.e. SQL tables).

Conclusion: If you want accurate Web Config Change reports you always have to leave the "Cache Results" checkbox checked.
