url monitoring

Hi All,

I am trying to monitor this website - http://abc.123.com

when I tried to monitor using the add the add a node feature, I got the error below.

Basically, the url and the ip address of the monitor node is the same.

How can I go about monitoring this?

I am kinda lost as to how to get this started.

1) You can add a duplicate IP node if it's on a different polling engine.... I do *not* recommend this. Just because you can does not mean you should...

2) If the IP address is a secondary IP address on the node, then you can edit that node, change the monitored IP address, then add the new node.

3) Add the SAM monitor for that URL to that node instead of creating a new node.

Hi Brian,

I did it another way. I created the url as a node and then I monitor it off the Orion Server.

By doing the method that I did above, it shows that the site is up but it doesn't tell me if the site is down.

The site IP is the same as the IP of the node.

So I guess only using appinsight for IIS works?

Appreciate any advise.
