5% Disk Space Alert

Question

Hi Guys

Just clarification really on the below Alert. Can confirm that with the below Alert applied to all nodes across the estate, for this alert to be triggered does the disk space on the target node have to be at 5% OR less than specified bytes, OR both for the alert to trigger the email?

And, can you confirm that the below actual trigger will ignore and not report on any Fixed Disk that is named with Page, PF, or Cache?

We have nearly 3,000 servers with different disk amounts, disk sizes, partitions, and volume sizes so to be honest applying a 5, 10, and 15% threshold/trigger is useless.

Ideally what I would like to do is this, instead of 5%, 10%, 15%;

Alert me when;

any disk/volume Free Space reaches 1GB (Critical) and to exclude Page, PF, Cache

any disk/volume Free Space reaches 3GB (Serious) and to exclude Page, PF, Cache

any disk/volume Free Space reaches 5GB (Warning) and to exclude Page, PF, Cache

any disk/volume Free Space reaches 50GB (Databases) and to exclude Page, PF, Cache

The above conditions looks OK to me. I think you need to create separate rules for each category of the alert like Warning, Serious, Critical, etc. This is what we have done in our environment for 2 categories Warning or Critical.

I'd suggest to setup AVAILABLE SPACE treshold depending on  volume size. I mean smaller treshold for smaller disks etc.
