Possible to convert report to resource?

I have a report that I have put on the summary page and it works well-except there is a delay between what it shows versus what the resources show onthe same page.

I was wondering if there is a way to take the same SQL query from the report and get it into a Resoruce so I can just add the Resource to the summary page and have it more responsive.

Anyone with Resource skills?
