Advacned Alert Trigger Help

Hi,

I am trying to write an alert.. I am having problems with the trigger condition..

This is what I have got
Trigger Alert when *ANY* of the following apply
Node Status = Warning
Node Status = Down
Trigger Alert when All of the following apply
Custom_Field_Core_Network=YES

When I activate the alert, I get alerted for all devices. Not just the Custom Field Core_Network Devices.

Any help will be great

Try swapping the logic around so the Core Network part is first

yeah you're logic is backwards it's that initial ANY statement you need an ALL which alerts if somethings in core AND ANY of the node status' occur

also, make sure that your conditions are nested properly.

Trigger when all
Custom_Field_Core_Network=YES
Trigger when any
Node Status = Warning
Node Status = Down

OK Great, thanks for your help..

If the node goes into a warning state, and then a down state, I only get notifed of the warning. Will I need two seperate alerts to be notified of both?

yes, they'll need to be separate, because the alert will already be triggered/active, and therefore won't trigger again until reset (for a given object).
