Multiple Application details view.

Greets,

I have 2 similar http sites at two remote locations. The http sites are only accessed from local resource. I want to measure the http response time from a local resource and so i set up a http monitor and then 'bounce' it off a server at each site by assigning a http monitor to a monitored server at each site.

Orion APM Server

Remote Server 1 > remote http 1

Remote Server 2 > remote http 2

Remote Server 1 and Remote Server 2 are returning results to my Orion APM Server and I can see the response time without having to take into account the remote link.

Since the applications are the same, I want to represent both of them in one Application Details view using a response time min / max chart for each. Since the url for each is different, I've used two application templates to achieve the check.

Could you help me to put a view together that would represent the two charts in one view? Furthermore, could that expand to 3, 5, 10 charts for 3, 5, 10 sites?

Hello,

I would suggest to do the following:

Create a new template, which will have 2 HTTP monitors. So both these websites will be monitored from the same application
Assign the template to a node
Go to application details view and click 'Customize Page', from the dialog select 'Specific view for XY-based applications'
Add 2 'MIN/MAX Average Response Time' resources from the 'APM Charts' section
Go back to application details view and edit newly added resources - you will be able to select different components for different resources.

I like your suggestion and i'm just being tripped up on one point. I need to assign each of the 2 HTTP monitors to different nodes.

HTTP Monitor can monitor any URL, not just URL consisting of node's IP address. You can input 'www.google.com' if you like. Just change it to whatever you like in Edit Application page.

that is a handy function, but what i need is to have different http monitors coming FROM different nodes.

what i have figured out though, is that i can add 'Misc > Custom Object Resource' to a view and then add more or less anything i want.

This is something you should be able to easily accomplish using Synthetic End User Monitor.
