How to add applications to monitor

Hi,

I want to monitor the following services but not sure if this is already available in APM...

MS Exchange Active Directory Topology

Microsoft Exchange EdgeSync

Microsoft Exchange File Distribution

Microsoft Exchange Forms-based authentication

Microsoft Exchange Imap4

Microsoft Exchange POP

Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication

Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access

Microsoft Exchange Service Host

Microsoft Exchange Transport

Netlogon

If not, is there a way to adding these services in APM as an application monitor?

This is one of the beauties and strengths of APM, it can monitor anything that runs as a service in addition to many other things. You can always download a trial version and try it for free.

In short, yes these are services and therefore can be monitored by APM.

In addition to what byron said, have a look at the preconfigured monitoring templates that ship with Orion APM. Most of these services are already monitored in some of the pre-built Exchange service monitoring templates: Exchange 2010 Mailbox Role Services, Exchange 2010 Hub Transport Role Services, and so on.

If you want to create a template that just monitors those services you list, and nothing else, that's fairly easy to do too. You can mix and match any of those service monitoring components from the predefined templates to create a whole new template, and if any services are missing, you can create your own component and add it to your new template.
