Nexus 7010s and NCM

Hi all,

Right now I'm testing an evaluation of NCM in our lab. I'm using it on Cisco 3750 switch stacks and 6509s and it's working great. However, we're in the process of buying some 7010s and 4948s, but the NCM evaluation will be done before we have them in place. My manager wanted to reach out to other people in the community and see what kind of experiences people have had using NCM with those products, especially the 7010s. He doesn't want to invest in NCM unless we can be relatively confident that it will work well with our new equipment.

I've been poking around on the 'Net and haven't seen people posting negative things, so that's good . I just wanted to reach out here on thwack and see what thoughts people have, good, bad or other.

Josh,

One of the great things about NCM is that the product is not device or vendor specific.  In the case of your future purchase of Nexus devices, since NXOS, has some different commands than traditional IOS a new device template might need to be created and applied to your evaluation.  The device templates are super easy to create and SW even has a new tool to help users create templates for devices that we don't have an template for out of the box.  Check out the below think for information on the device template assistant tool and the link to download it;
