Node duplications causing errors

I'm in process of helping out the networking team clean up there NCM implementations. I have hundreds of nodes with errors and I'm in process of walking through them. One thing I noticed quite commonly is they have nodes imported multiple times. Some will have the correct credentials... others not. Its a bit of a pain going node by node, finding which one is bad and removing it.

I'm a newbie (of course) is there a better way? Also, I'd like to understand how they could have duplicate nodes? Seems kind of odd that Orion would allow someone to add the same device multiple times?
