Hi,
Is it possible to monitor the status of a subinterface in Orion NPM? I connect to the node with SNMPv2 or SNMPv1 and the node shows in the Orion NPM and it shows interfaces but it doesn't show subinterfaces.
Boris
it should show the sub-interfaces.we are monitoring a TON of subs...
I'd try using a 3rd party snmp-get tool (like getif) to verify the device is reporting properly, but Orion just uses SNMP, so....
what version of NPM are you using, how are you trying to manage the interfaces, etc...?
I am using Orion NPM version 9.0 SP1 and SNMPv1. I get the status of ethernet interface on the router but I don't see 4 subinterfaces that I have defined on that interface. I just want to see if the subinterfaces are up or down.
Does the old version of SNMP or the old version of Orion NPM makes the problem for monitoring subinterfaces?
What kind od devices are those? We're monitoring many sub-interfaces on Ciscos and Linux routers (using NetSNMP).
It is an old Nortel ASN router. As I menitoned I can only access it using SNMPv1. Maybe it is not possible to monitor the status of subinterfaces on this old device with SNMPv1.....
