Has anyone written a report that tells you what notifications went out for a particular trigger? I need to verify a notification went to a tech or even that the nofication attempt failed. i haven't been able to find this information....
Run the Diagnostics Utility which can be found in C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion\SolarwindsDiagnostics.exe
In the results created -drill into the DB folder and look in the AlertLog.csv for details.
Thanks for the information...that did give it to me....is there any way to turn this into a report? is there a guide somewhere that could explain how to do write a sql query for it?
There is a great guide for using SQL reporting services in the content sharing zone
but this probably won't help you achieve what you are asking.
Maybe i am not seeing the issue here but if you test the alert and it notifys them then couldnt you just run a report looking for the alert and use that?
the issue is being able to show management that the an email alert went to a certain tech on this date and this time. if a tech says they didn't get an alert i want to be able to run this report and show that the system sent one and the notification was successful.....on our old monitoring system we had too many occasions that the tech says then we never notified and we didn't have a way to dispute it....
if your sending an email alert you can place a second address in the email that way you get the email also and can use that to show them that the email was sent.
