SolarWinds Orion Platform 2014.1 SQL SMO 2012 SP2 Hotfix - Release Date: 8/14/2014

This hotfix addresses an issue where the Configuration Wizard drops database constraints which can affect alerting, traps and syslogs.
The issue is caused by Microsoft SQL Share Management object 2012 SP2 installed on your main poller.
How to check whether the hotfix is mandatory:
- Open Windows Explorer on the main poller.
- Browse to C:\windows\Assembly.
- Locate the file "microsoft.sqlserver.smo" (Main version 11), right-click the file and select "Properties".
- Check the Version tab.
- If you have version 11.0.5058, this hotfix is mandatory.
This hotfix applies to: NPM 10.7, SAM 6.1 and 6.1.1, NCM 7.3, Web Toolset 11
Install this hotfix on your main poller.
DLLs in this hotfix:
1.SolarWinds.ConfigurationWizard.Plugin.Common.dll
2.SolarWinds.ConfigurationWizard.Common.dll
Notes:
- If you are running a combination of the above mentioned products, install this hotfix just once.
- Orion Platform 2014.2.1 (included in NPM 11.0.1) will fix this issue, and you will no longer need to install this hotfix, even if your other module(s) are in the list.
To install this hotfix:

1. Log on to the SolarWinds server hosting your Orion installation as an administrator.
2. Using the Orion Service Manager, stop all SolarWinds services:
a. Start the Orion Service Manager in your SolarWinds Orion program folder (SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager).
b. Click "Shutdown Everything".
3. Find and back up the files "SolarWinds.ConfigurationWizard.Plugin.Common.dll" and "SolarWinds.ConfigurationWizard.Common.dll" (by default located in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion).
4. Run the setup.exe executable to extract the hotfix archive.
5. Replace the files "SolarWinds.ConfigurationWizard.Plugin.Common.dll" and "SolarWinds.ConfigurationWizard.Common.dll" with the appropriate file from the extracted hotfix folder.
6. In the Orion Service Manager, click "Start Everything".
7. Run Configuration Wizard and select that you want to repair the Database.
To uninstall this hotfix:

1. Log on to the SolarWinds server hosting your Orion installation as an administrator.
2. Using the Orion Service Manager, stop all SolarWinds services:
a. Start the Orion Service Manager in your SolarWinds Orion program folder (SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager).
b. Click "Shutdown Everything".
3. Locate the files "SolarWinds.ConfigurationWizard.Plugin.Common.dll" and "SolarWinds.ConfigurationWizard.Common.dll", by default located in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion, and replace them with appropriate backup files.
4. In the Orion Service Manager, click "Start Everything".
