Building custom Active Alerts, but what tools to use?

We have need to create custom Active Alerts resource.

Most needed feature is to add custom properties to resource and sort alerts by them as we other priorites than just alert time.

Also, it would be nice to clickable links to alert targets as Active Alerts has.

Question is: what tool to use to achieve this?

I know at least two options:

- Custom SWQL

- Using Orion Report Writer and building custom SQL query

If I want to use one of tools, I must have more information how to embed URL links to resource fields.

This could be done pretty readily right in the new reporting UI in 10.6. In terms of embedding as a resource in a view, that capability is starting to surface in the 10.7 beta.

Hi Rob,

Is that based on what table?

I'm trying to use All Alerts-table on web report, but it will not give any rows.

There are active advanced alerts, but I cannot see any with this report.

Apologies, this will only apply to active basic alerts. Advanced alerts are available in the AlertStatus table for a SQL data source.

No problem, but thanks. I found correct table.

It seems to need more advanced SQL query to combine certain tables with nodes, application, interfaces, etc.
