Hi,
I'm looking for the JMX monitoring template in APM 4.2 RC2 but can't find it. This is supposed to be a new feature. Has anyone used it yet?
Thanks!
David
Because each implementation of Java JMX is unique, and these tend to be custom written applications we're restricted to whatever the developer has chosen to expose as an MBean through JMX. This makes creating a useful template near impossible. However, I strongly recommend you take a look at the very powerful JMX Explorer included in APM 4.2 under "Find Processes, Services and Performance Counters" in APM Settings. This provides a simple, powerful wizard driven process for creating custo templates for your Java/JMX applications.
There is no template for JMX; however, there are Java templates available in the template library. To get to the JMX component, go to the APM settings page and click on Find Processes, Services and Performance Counters. JMX will be your first choice.
