network atlas hyperlink

I put in a manual hyper link to a shared file.

I can see the file by using the FireFox browser but when I try it thru Net. Perf. Monitor I get:

Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, becasuse the protocol(n) isn't associated with any program.

n is the file system.

n:\Myfiles\showmemap

I guess my question is what/where do I do this association. REGEDIT?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me.

The protocol that Network Atlas is using is http, so it's not going to know to route to a share. you could try putting \\n$\Myfiles\showmemap, but even that might not work. The actual design of the Hyperlink is to link to either another page on the SolarWinds website or another URL I believe.

We have found that file:// is locked down on FireFox, so we have to open up that security issue. What I'm doing is linking to diagrams so troubleshooters can pull up engineering diagrams while in the maps. Visio, word, etc. or just to a directory where they reside.
