Software
I am trying to create a Software Inventory report based on a Group of PC's but don't seem able to add a filter for this.
Can anyone point me in the right direction

Conditions can be added to filter the report by going to [Settings -> Manage Reports -> Select "Software Inventory Report" -> Click "Edit Report" -> and editing the "SoftwareDataSet"] as pictured below.

However I'm not sure how this will work. I need to add a filter somewhere for the Group, when I do this I get an error message, see below as obviously this information doesn't exists in the DB.
I can't find a Node property which identifies it is in a Group and hence add a filter..
Any other suggestions would be welcomed

You would not use groups, but rather Custom Properties to categorize and classify these devices for filtering within the report.

I have added a description into the department field for the node and used this as the filter; report is now working as expected.

How are you forming your report to get a list of applications and install count? When I create a query to list all workstations, select the inventory info etc all I get is a list of all the software installed on them?
I don't see how to get an overall list of software with installation count. I would have thought there would have been some basic out of the box reports for standard things like this which can then be copied an edited as required?
