Appinsight not listed as resource

I just wanted to find out if there are any basic checks or preparations that can be made to a system in order for Appinsight to detect SQL or Exchange? The reason I ask is because we have some systems that show SQL or Exchange as an Appinsight resource option when we list resources on a node, and some that don't. Both the ones that do and don't are using WMI for monitoring. Both have the same versions of SQL or Exchange installed, yet one does not list the Appinsight monitor as an option when you list resources on the node.

I feel there may be an underlying issue with the systems that are not but it would be helpful to know how it's determined to list that as a resource option.

The node polling method should be WMI for AppInsight for Exchange to appear under "List Resources". Also, it's important to note that AppInsight for Exchange is only applicable to Exchange 2010 and 2013 Mailbox Role servers. As such this option will not appear for other Exchange versions or Role servers. As for AppInsight for SQL, this option will appear under "List Resources" for both SNMP and WMI managed nodes running SQL 2008 or later. If this option is not appearing it may be that Named Pipes and/or TCP/IP is not enabled on the SQL Server application. AppInsight for SQL does not work with local SQL instances that connected using Shared Memory
