I noticed that our syslog table is getting pretty huge, and we are only keeping syslogs for 180 days. I checked the data in the table, and there are a LOT of records past retention. I tried running maintenance, but it didnt purge the old syslog records. I found an sql statement to get the job done, but why isnt the db maintenance job doing this?
I thought I would clarify what I meant by a LOT. 30+GB syslog table 24510474+ records. Purging anything over 180 days right now has been running for over 1 hour. Weeeeee
