table Cortex_Documents?

My groups are always in spinning hourglass.  Support instructed me to drop and recreate some Cortex tables. We did that in dev and seems to fix the issue.

I look at our production. this table Cortex_Documents has records from few years ago till now and there are 14 million records. Anyone knows the purpose of this table?  I'm hesitate to drop the table without knowing what this is and I didn't get a straight answer from Support.
